Quiet Time

Having a very energetic two year old and an ever changing 3 month old does not leave much time for me, the mama, to record events and share pictures with friends and family. I've been putting off this idea of "blogging" for awhile because A) I have no time, B) I feel like I'm too old and losing my techno savvy, and C) I don't think I am creative or have any profound ideas that anyone would care to read. But let's face it, no one reading my blog is reading it for the insight... it's to look at my oh so adorable children. Let me tell you, that really took the pressure off of me!

So anyhow, the kids are great. Jack is so close to potty training: he always lets me know that he is going "poo-poo" as he is going (hmm... ). When I ask him if he would like to do his business on his potty, he tells me "No potty." I think he is afraid of getting himself messy (based on past experiences).

Miss Paige is so healthy and has the chubbiest cheeks. She smiles and talks all the time. She loves to stand, which makes it hard to burp her after eating. She has recently discovered her hands, and she really enjoys sticking them in her mouth.

Rich and I are doing well. Rich has been working really hard at learning water resources for his job. He's excited to be doing this kind of work, but sometimes gets frustrated with himself for not being a master at it yet. He also has a list of odd jobs that he wants to get done around the house. When the kids and I took a few days to visit some family in Lafayette, Rich decided to build a fireplace. He claimed he wanted to surprise me with a beautiful stone fireplace, but I really think he was punishing me for leaving! It turned out to be more of a punishment for him since it was so tedious and labor intensive, but in the end it really is pretty.

As for me, I'm just trying to keep the chaos to a minimum. Between Jack's tantrums, Paige crying in my ear, the beagles howling, and Rich yelling over it all, I think I am losing my hearing (hmm, maybe that's why Paige is sleeping through the night...I just can't hear her crying anymore). Seriously, though, I've really been enjoying my family. My kids are great, my husband is just the best, and the dogs, well the dogs are really healthy.
