My Latest Project

Our great friends Jared and Nicole are expecting their first baby any minute now. Nicole commissioned me to make a genuine Bridget Eastland Quilt for their new baby, Grace. She gave me free reign of any colors or pattern that I liked. I found this "Buggy" fabric, and I thought it was absolutely adorable, plus the colors were great. So this is what I came up with.

Sky Sox Repo Night 2010

Ok, these pictures are in the reverse order. Every year the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (our famous minor league team) has a raffle for repossessed cars. This is the second year we have gone, and I guess each year, we get a bigger group together. No one from our group has won yet, but maybe next year... I'm really hoping for that 1984 Astro Van!

4th of July 2010--Rained out!

The neighbors rented a bounce house for the 4th of July. Early in the day was beautiful and sunny. When it came time for fireworks, well, that's a whole other story.

Because of the rain, the fireworks had to be postponed several times. Jack and Madi could barely contain their excitement.

Travis was able to get some of them going, but the rest were lit on a later occasion.

A Bit of Nature

Last weekend while we were visiting the Rausch grandparents, we went up to Flagstaff Mountain. Jack loved his hike, although he didn't always want me to take his picture.

Practice for senior pictures

Ohh, a pine cone!

He's had enough pictures, apparently.

Amusement Park Adventure

Over Memorial Day weekend, we went to Heritage Square in Golden. There are a bunch of little amusement rides that the kids were able to enjoy (and since Paige required a parent with her on most of the rides, Rich and I got to enjoy them, too).

Hot and Bored!

You can't tell, but Jack is hanging on to me for dear life!

The kids had so much fun at the "carnival" as Jack has been calling it. They are sitting next to me as I am posting this current update, and Jack is getting so excited about remembering the fun he had. Paige is so excited about the dress she wore that day. (She is insisting that I show her the pictures of her so that she can admire her skirt!)

This next video is of Jack learning to drive. It was the first ride he went on, and he was pretty hesitant at first, but got the hang of it after a while (sort of).

Sweatshop

Jack and Paige persuaded Auntie to make them some bracelets.

I used to spend hours making friendship bracelets when I was a kid. I guess this talent runs in families.

So pretty!

Super Cool!

It's gettin' a little bit redneck!

Don't worry, I have her mother's permission to post this picture. In fact, it was her idea to put the pastie over her "mosquito bite". I just don't understand why the neighbors across the street want to move!

And that's her mother in the tree. It might explain her daughters a little bit!

Who needs a pool? We've got a cooler full of water.

"Ummm, this is kinda boring..."

I've just gotten a glimpse into their golden years.

They would be a cute couple! (although he is already betrothed to her little sister, and they are planning on having 5 children when the time is right.)

Just sending the baby to sweep the sidewalks

Paige found Travis's pink tank top (that's a whole other blog post, and really not my post to share), and she got so excited. She kept saying, "My Dress! My Dress!" Then there was a pretty wicked tantrum once we took it away from her.

Two Hot Mamas (or Spicy Mamas as Paige would say)

Jack got a new Spiderman scooter for a graduation gift. There is actually some controversy to this gift, because he threw the meltdown of all meltdowns when we went to Target to buy it for him. (He wanted the action figure, Green Lantern instead.)
